Singapore!
I'm back!! And finally starting to come to from the jet lag. I had. The. Most. Amazing. Time. Ever. Before we get to Australia, we have to do my twelve hour layover in Singapore. It was unreal. I'd never been to Asia before. I'd never been so close to the equator before. I'd never been a place that just... felt so different... before. There is no explaining it. So I'll let the pictures do the talking for me.

I'm just a regular reader who found your blog ages ago and have been following along. That picture of the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple in Little India is absolutely stunning.
I simply MUST get out of the States sometime soon.

Here is a description from Wikipedia of the Durian:
The durian (IPA: [duɾiɑn]) is the fruit of trees of the genus Durio belonging to the Malvaceae, a large family which includes hibiscus, okra and cotton. Widely known and revered in Southeast Asia as the "King of Fruits",[1] the fruit is distinctive for its large size, unique odour, and a formidable thorn-covered husk. Its name comes from the Malay word duri (thorn) together with Malay suffix that is -an (for building a noun in Malay), meaning "thorny fruit"
And the odor:
its odor is best described as pig-shit, turpentine and onions, garnished with a gym sock. It can be smelled from yards away. Despite its great local popularity, the raw fruit is forbidden from some establishments such as hotels, subways and airports, including public transportation in Southeast Asia.
