Life is good, even in weird ol' England. So I guess I need to stock up on buttermilk for the holidays, eh? That could cause problems -- Alice refuses to be in the same ROOM as buttermilk, which she considers THE grossest substance in the solar system . . .
Seen that lots of times. More common in Ireland, where they make lots of soda bread (Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, soda bread) than this side of the Irish Sea.
I'm of the opinion that you can find almost anything in the UK that seems foreign if you only look long enough and/or are willing to pay more. The first time I saw Reeses in Costcos there (this being a few years back, now they're more common) I almost died of joy.
It's ideal for cooking, apparently.
